At Dorchester House bed and breakfast we actively encourage guests and visitors to help preserve this beautiful environment which we are extremely fortunate to live in. Part of our commitment to the environment is that we are members of the Nurture Lakeland which is an organisation set up to create tourism and conservation working in partnership for a more sustainable Lakeland.
Part of our commitment to this environment we will gladly assist guest with walks from our bed and breakfast. We also have available local walks from the bed and breakfast to eliminate the use of their cars. Also available to our guests at our bed and breakfast is a bus timetable and a launch timetable and walks using these methods of transport.
Before undertaking walks we would recommend that our guest have suitable clothing for the conditions and they check the weather (we display the local weather from Weatherline daily at our bed and breakfast). Even if they are walking at low level it is wise to carry OS map and have some idea of the walking times.
If guests are undertaking a more adventurous walk on the fells we have available we have an advisory sheet on a safety checklist at the bed and breakfast.
